Before Your Tattoo

First tattoo? Check out the tips below to get the best possible experience.

-Eat a good size meal within a couple hours before getting tattooed.

-Make sure you are well hydrated.

-Please do NOT use any numbing creams. A lot of creams and ointments on the market are hard to clean off of the skin. This often leads to clogged needles and the ink not going in correctly. We have products that work well during the procedure and can provide pain relief if necessary. We can even provide numbing cream (of our choosing) before the tattoo if you are willing to arrive at least an hour before your appointment and pay in advance for the cream.

-Please be conscientious when bringing young children into the tattoo shop. We are a family owned shop and we understand that sometimes kids tag along for things such as consults and appointment booking or even the first few minutes of the tattoo. For the actual procedure, after stenciling and setting up, they are no longer allowed in the procedural area. It is expected that they no longer are waiting in the shop. This can be very distracting to the artist working with you as well as the other artists in the shop. This rule is in place for liability reasons as well, we do not want any kids getting hurt in the shop.

-Please do not shave the area for us if it's not an area you regularly shave. We are trained to do this and will not cut you, if you cut yourself in the area it will affect the tattoo process.

-Be prepared to not use your cell phone during the tattoo procedure. Despite what you may believe, even the slightest movement of your fingers (like scrolling on TikTok) can cause the area being tattooed to move.

-Tattoos take time. Please do not rush the artist, if you have somewhere to be you should plan to get tattooed when you have appropriate time. We cannot plan for certain things such as the weather, the client not sitting well, needing breaks, stencils not going on correctly the first time, etc. Every persons skin is different and one person may take more time to tattoo than another.
Remember, aside from the procedure itself, there is paperwork to complete before the tattoo as well as bandaging and aftercare instructions to go over at the end. We can only estimate how long a tattoo may take, and even then it may differ per the client.

-If you are going on vacation in the very near future, you should wait until you come back. We cannot properly help you through the aftercare process if you are on vacation following the tattoo. You cannot sunblock a fresh tattoo for at least 1-2 weeks; sun exposure during this time will be detrimental. You also cannot swim with a fresh tattoo as you may very likely get an infection. *If you are here on vacation from somewhere else and are swimming or enjoying the sun, we advise you to wait until the last day or two to get tattooed.

-If you have a service animal, we need advanced notice as one of our main artists is highly allergic.
